Local Wine
Since 2019, Sandahl Cellars has been producing wine out of Moorpark, CA. These small batch wines farmed in Ventura, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and Cucamonga Valley Counties receive ample amounts of care and precision to create exceptional, unique vintages.
The Winemaker
"You Only Have So Many Vintages in a Lifetime"
Owner/Winemaker (Michael Sandahl) of Sandahl Cellars has an ultimate focus of making wines of noticeable quality & creativity.
Currently, he focuses on 5 varietals:
Grenache: Farmed on a small 3 acre lot of the Rancho Del Prada Vineyard in Santa Ynez, CA. This Grenache is used to make outstanding Rosé.
Viognier: Farmed in the beautiful valley of Ballard Canyon at the Tierra Alta Vineyard, this Viognier bursts with flavors of honeysuckle and stone fruit.
Pinot Noir: Known as “Duality” from the Rio Vista Vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills that deeply connects his love for the coast with this fruit that lives beside it. Sandahl Cellars exclusively works with the Calera clone.
Zinfandel: This Zinfandel from the Lopez vineyard in Cucamonga Valley that was planted in 1918 and has never been irrigated. This rugged vineyard creates small, flavor packed berries that showcase the heart of Zinfandel.
Merlot: Known as “Ceremony” and is the flagship wine for Sandahl Cellars. The fruit is farmed by the winemaker himself in Santa Rosa Valley, CA and is minutes away from the winery.
Pairing Wine & Music
A HIGHER-LEVEL WINE EXPERIENCE
Michael Sandahl (Founder, Winemaker) has always paired music with wine - a combination that seems to go hand in hand. Having played guitar (along with other stringed instruments) since 2006, Michael creates original music to pair with his vintages. The experience of enjoying wine paired with music brings people together and creates a “finely tuned” wine experience.
